“Choosing the right attorney matters– and I want to make sure I am a fit for your family and your unique situation. I like to be open and honest about my experiences because I wouldn’t be the attorney I am today without my story. My passion and lifelong activism for disability civil rights started early on, growing up with two younger brothers with special needs. As a child, I watched my parents struggle to navigate the special education system. Despite all the obstacles, they refused to surrender and accept anything less than what my siblings needed to succeed. It was never easy– but my parents knew all their children were entitled to an education that would allow them to build their future.
Today, my brothers are thriving as adults– and the fight to advocate for their success has had a lasting impact on me. Starting in high school, I worked at an after-school program that provided homework help and social recreation for children with special needs. During college and law school, I worked with adults with disabilities, and focused internship opportunities on disability civil rights issues. During and following law school, I worked at an employment law firm and was able to pursue cases that dealt with discrimination issues and at a boutique law firm specializing in special education law.
Now, I devote all my time to this cause that is very close to my heart. As a parent of a child on an IEP, I have navigated this system and I understand the emotions that come with it. I want you to know that I will be here for you every step of the way and will do whatever it takes to help your child receive an appropriate education that allows them to succeed.”
“Everyone wants the best for their child, particularly in an area as important as their education.”
